What Constitutes a Dental Emergency?

A dental emergency can come in many forms, and it’s crucial to understand what situations require urgent care. Common dental emergencies include:

  • Toothaches

Severe tooth pain can be caused by a variety of factors such as decay, infection, or injury. If you experience intense pain that doesn’t subside, it’s important to seek immediate treatment.

  • Broken or Chipped Teeth

If you’ve broken or chipped a tooth, it’s vital to see an emergency dentist in Bixby, OK as soon as possible to prevent further damage and to restore the appearance and function of your tooth.

  • Knocked-out Teeth

Accidents can happen, and if a tooth is knocked out, prompt action is critical. Preserving the tooth and getting to an emergency dental office quickly can increase the chances of saving it.

  • Swollen or Bleeding Gums

Gum infections, trauma, or other issues can cause swelling and bleeding in the gums. If left untreated, it could lead to more serious complications.

  • Lost Fillings or Crowns

If you lose a filling or crown, it can lead to discomfort and expose the tooth to potential infection. Seeking emergency dental services can help prevent further complications.

If you are experiencing any of these issues, don’t wait for the problem to worsen. Contact our dental office immediately to schedule an appointment for emergency dental care.

Financing & Payment Plans

We understand how important it is to be able to restore your dental health and your confidence with a long-term solution. That's why we offer third-party financing options and work with you on payment plans to fit your budget.

How to Handle a Dental Emergency

While waiting to see an emergency dentist, here are a few tips to manage common dental emergencies:

  • Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm water and floss gently to remove any food particles. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling and pain.

  • Knocked-Out Tooth: If possible, try to place the tooth back into its socket without touching the root. If that’s not possible, place the tooth in a container of milk or saliva and bring it with you to your appointment.

  • Broken Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to the affected area. If there’s bleeding, apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth to stop it.

  • Lost Filling or Crown: Use dental wax or sugar-free gum to temporarily cover the exposed tooth until you can get to our office.

The best experience I've had as a new patient in my life! Such friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was serious pain, given that I had broken a molar in half!! Shout out to Larixa and Dr.Shuck for making the experience (that I usually dread) so easy and painless. Would recommend to anyone in the area. I'd give more than 5 stars if that was possible.

I wholeheartedly recommend this office to anyone in search of a dentist! As a newcomer to the area, I was able to schedule an emergency visit, and they saved my tooth just a week later. I've struggled with dental anxiety for years, but the team here made me feel completely at ease. They were incredibly gentle, and I experienced no pain during or after the procedure.
